Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy for AgroFResh Uganda

AgroFResh Uganda is committed to driving sustainable change through agriculture-focused Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Through our Youth Empowerment and Development in Commercial Agriculture (YEDCA) project, we train over 1,000 urban youth annually in agribusiness skills, with a strong emphasis on gender inclusion—ensuring 40% of participants are young women. We further support rural livelihoods by organizing quarterly farmers’ exhibitions, linking smallholder farmers to markets and increasing their incomes by 20%. A portion of event proceeds (5%) is reinvested into community seed banks and climate-smart farming training to enhance food security.

Environmental sustainability is a core priority: we distribute 10,000 free seedlings each year to promote organic farming, implement plastic-free packaging campaigns, and reduce agro-waste by 30% through composting. Our health and nutrition efforts include sponsoring school gardens and conducting workshops to improve dietary habits in 5,000 households annually.

We collaborate with the Kampala City Council and private sector partners to expand urban farming opportunities while maintaining transparency through annual impact reports. By integrating social empowerment, environmental stewardship, and economic resilience, AgroFResh Uganda lives by its mission: “Growing communities through sustainable agriculture.”
